Welcome to the temporary website for the documentary Nueva Orleans.
Following the wrath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, waves of Latino laborers arrived in New Orleans, lured by the plentiful reconstruction jobs. Shot in and around the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans, Nueva Orleans trails a crew of Latino migrant workers rebuilding the city. Against the backdrop of flooded homes and ruined neighborhoods, Nueva Orleans introduces a group of men from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras isolated from their families, cultures, and even from the from their adopted city. As their story unfolds, a snapshot emerges of how the city’s new underclass work, live, drink, brawl, and dream.
